What does the Certificate III in Beauty Services (SHB30115) involve?
The Certificate III in Beauty Services involves theory and practical work which aims to develop skills in a range of beauty therapy treatments and services. These may include make-up, waxing, manicure and pedicure treatments, lash and brow treatments and selling retail skin care and cosmetic products.
It is expected that those completing the Certificate III in Beauty Services practice throughout their qualification to maintain the skills and knowledge learnt at the College.
After finishing the qualification, certificate III holders can anticipate to find work within salons, beauty retail outlets as well as the wider beauty industry.
Marjorie Milner College recommends that as part of your course, you invite your family and friends to practice on during the client days held at the College. If you can’t find models, MMC will attempt to source clients for practical sessions.
When does the Certificate III in Beauty Services (SHB30115) update?
Marjorie Milner College is currently writing the new Certificate III in Beauty Services SHB30115 update. We are hopeful that students will commence in the updated course code by July 1st 2016. Please speak with the College for more information on SHB30115.
What employment opportunities will I have?
Once you have completed the Certificate III in Beauty Services you can start working in a Melbourne Beauty Salon. You may choose to travel around Australia and work in a series of different environments as the Certificate III in Beauty Services is recognised Australia wide. You may also choose to further your knowledge in the beauty industry by completing a higher qualification, such as the Diploma of Beauty Therapy.
Classes follow the Victorian School term dates, with four terms to a year. Daily classes are held between 9:00am to 4:30pm at the Surrey Hills Campus within the scheduled intakes mentioned under ‘Study Options Page’.
The Certificate III in Beauty Services has all assessment methods outlined on the Training Plan for each unit. A brief overview of what assessments students can expect in the course are:
- Written assessment
- Practical assessment
There is professional equipment and tools required to work within the Beauty Industry. These can either be obtained through Bev Greenwood upon enrolment or sourced by the student using the equipment list.
Eligibility Check for Government Funding
This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding.
All fees on the Course Fees page are relevant to 2017. These fees may be subject to change in subsequent calendar years. The tuition fees you pay will depend on your eligibility for government subsidised training. Note that each course has a relevant yearly education amenities fee which must be paid each year that a student is on course.
Concession fee rates are available to eligible students who hold a recognised concession card, such as a health care card. Full fee payers and Diploma course students are ineligible for concession rates.
Fees are due upon commencement. Students may not have to pay the full amount upfront depending on the duration of the course.
Students with relevant Credit Transfers from previous studies may be eligible to receive a discount on fees. Tuition Fees may vary depending on electives selected.
