What does the Certificate III in Floristry (SFL30115) involve?

The Certificate III in Floristry involves theory and practical work which intends to develop your skills in floristry. The Certificate III focuses on floristry design, construction and sales skills.

After finishing the Certificate III in Floristry you will be a fully qualified florist with a range of well developed skills. You also have the opportunity to move through to higher floristry qualifications.

The Certificate III in Floristry can be studied through two different pathways, as an apprenticeship through employment or as an institution based student.

What employment opportunities will I have?

Once you have completed the Certificate III in Floristry, you can confidently and competently work in a Melbourne Florist Shop or within the Victoria Floristry Industry. You may choose to travel around Australia to work in a series of different Floristry environments as this qualification is recognised Australia wide. You may also decide to move into different areas involving floristry including event management and allied trades or utilise your floristry skills overseas.

Delivery:

Classes follow the Victorian School term dates, with four terms to a year. Daily classes are held between 9:00am to 4:30pm at the Surrey Hills Campus within the scheduled intakes mentioned under ‘Study Options Page’.

Assessment Methods:

The Certificate III in Floristry has all assessment methods outlined on the Training Plan for each unit. A brief overview of what assessments students can expect in the course are:

  • Written assessment
  • Practical assessment

Equipment/Resources:

There are professional equipment and tools required to work with the Floristry Industry. A list of necessary materials is supplied to all applicants upon enrolment and includes items such as wire, parafilm, cutters, hand towel and notebook.

Flowers are supplied for practical use in classes and remain at the College at the completion of class. Students may be required to bring in special flowers for competitions or special events.

Tuition Fees

All fees on the Course Fees page are relevant to 2017. These fees may be subject to change in subsequent calendar years. The tuition fees you pay will depend on your eligibility for government subsidised training. Note that each course has a relevant yearly education amenities fee which must be paid each year that a student is on course.

Concession fee rates are available to eligible students who hold a recognised concession card, such as a health care card. Full fee payers and Diploma course students are ineligible for concession rates.

Fees are due upon commencement. Students may not have to pay the full amount upfront depending on the duration of the course.

Students with relevant Credit Transfers from previous studies may be eligible to receive a discount on fees. Tuition Fees may vary depending on electives selected.
