Good News Budget 2021-22, A considered boost for supporting Apprenticeship training for Hairdressing, Barbering and Floristry employers and apprentices.
There are two main groups that will be positively impacted by this announcement.
Employers – employers will benefit from an extension to the Apprenticeship Wage Subsidy. That means employers that commence an apprentice before 31 March 2022 will be able to claim up to a 50% wage subsidy over 12 months.
This will enable industries to work together with those looking to upskill or gain qualifications, a huge win for businesses and prospective apprentices.
Talk to us to discuss how this can support your business call James on 9880 7257 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Note: The subsidy will be capped. This cap will be $7,000 per quarter for each apprentice or trainee.
Apprentices -The second demographic to benefit are new and prospective apprentices themselves. Those looking to upskill or commence training to develop new skills will be given greater opportunities to find apprenticeships and connect with employers.
With employers reaching out and expanding their workforce, apprentices are in hot demand. The Government is also building pathways for 5,000 women to commence apprenticeships in non-traditional fields and industries.

Training Places – The Government will also be committing to expanding the Job Trainer initiative. A further 163,000 places will become available until 31 December 2022. This is a great support for training providers and those looking for quality training. More places means more opportunity for training providers to invest in those looking to invest in themselves and we are all for that.
Who benefits most from these places?
Jobseekers, young people and school leavers will benefit most from these additional places. If you’re looking to find a place then please contact Marjorie Milner College on 9880 7257 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We are excited that we have been given the chance to support those wanting to commence their training journey.
Another big winner, that we are very supportive of, is the Government’s plan to further support Vocational Education in schools. By creating stronger connections and pathways for school students to study Vocational Education, they are opening doors that may have otherwise remained closed.
We are a huge supporter of school-based apprenticeship and training and look forward to what will develop from the Governments Budget announcement for greater trade opportunities within schools.
If you are interested in school-based programs we encourage you to speak with your school liaisons who can connect with us should you be looking to study one of our quality courses.

We are excited about how this will impact our communities, students, businesses, and training into the future.
The time is now…
