- What Does SBH30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing Involve?
- What Employment Opportunities Will I Have?
The Certificate III in Hairdressing involves theory and practical work which will develop your skills in hairdressing services and in working as a team within a hairdressing environment. Such skills may include communicating in the workplace, consulting with clients, selling products and services, and designing and applying a broad range of technical hairdressing services on clients.
After finishing the Certificate III in Hairdressing qualification, you will be a fully qualified hairdresser with a range of well-developed skills.
Marjorie Milner College recommends that as part of your course, you invite your family and friends to practice on. A small fee will be charged to cover the cost of products and services. If you can’t find models, MMC will attempt to source clients for practical sessions.
Once you have completed Certificate III in Hairdressing you can start working in a Melbourne Salon. You may choose to travel around Australia and work in a series of different hairdressing salons. The hairdressing qualification is recognised Australia wide. You may also move into different areas of hairdressing including working with product companies, colour companies, cruise-liners or utilise your hairdressing skills overseas.
Classes follow the Victorian school term dates, with four terms to a year. Classes run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week between 9:00am and 4:30pm at the Surrey Hills Campus.
Please make sure to contact the College to secure a place as class sizes are limited.
There is professional equipment and tools that are required to work within the Hairdressing Industry. These must be sourced by the student using the following equipment list. Marjorie Milner College can recommend suppliers that hold the relevant equipment.
The Certificate III in Barbering Training Plan will outline all assessment tools for each unit. An overview is outlined below:
